Your Path to ADI Excellence Starts Here

ADI Ascent is a practical resource hub for PDIs and new instructors—built to make lesson planning, Standards Check prep, and real-world coaching decisions simpler, clearer, and easier to apply.

About Roy Li & Our Mission

Hi, I’m Roy Li—an ADI teaching under Beans Driving School and the AA franchise. I built ADI Ascent because I remember how hard it is at the start: you’re learning the job, learning the wording, and trying to stay safe and professional at the same time.

A lot of the ideas here are inspired by the toolbooks and resources already out there—many of which helped me. The difference is: I’ve reworked the language into a simpler, more “in-car usable” style, closer to how many Hong Kong instructors naturally speak English, so you can actually use it under pressure.

Our Philosophy

This platform is built around Client-Centred Learning: helping pupils think, not just follow instructions. You’ll find question prompts, common scenarios, and coaching frameworks designed to help you manage risk, build pupil ownership, and deliver a calm, structured lesson—even when things go wrong.

How to Use This Platform

Use the sidebar like a toolbox. Pick the topic you need, take a few key questions/phrases, and apply them straight away in the car. If you’re preparing for a Standards Check, work through the sections in order and build your “go-to” structure.

Keep it practical: every mistake is data. If you’ve got a real scenario that’s not covered, send it to me—this library will keep evolving to fill the gaps that toolbooks don’t always cover.
